Program at a Glance
The 2026 Summer Future Global Leaders program at UC San Diego.
Program dates
August 9โ22, 2026 (two weeks) on the UC San Diego campus.
Who can apply
Japanese undergraduate and graduate students. No specific TOEFL/IELTS score required; a willingness to engage in English is enough.
Housing & meals
On-campus UCSD dorms with three meals a day included in the program fee.
Graduate-level lectures
Six lectures from UCSD GPS faculty โ the same instructors who teach the graduate program.
Field trips
Five field trips around San Diego built around the program themes (policy, technology, society).
Application deadline
June 17, 2026. Earlier applications are reviewed sooner.

Greg runs short-term programs at the GPS Global Leadership Institute and has overseen FGL since its early years. He'll walk through the program structure on the call.

Courtney coordinates day-to-day program operations at GLI and handles the logistics that participants actually experience on the ground.
